We want people to talk to each other and part of talking to each other and reaching out is sharing your faith.

I kind of grew up around planes.

My dad worked for United Airlines.

I was born on an Air Force base.

It took us six years before we were able to get pregnant with our first child.

In retrospect, I look back, and I am so glad that we didn't have our kids when we wanted to have them. The time that they came along was just the right timing.

For us, adoption was a real answer. In fact, we actually did get called by an adoption agency, and they did have a little boy that was going to be born in July. Our son was born the following November, but by the time they called us with a possible child, we already knew that I was pregnant with Michael.

It was really a lot of fun to collaborate with Charlotte. She has worked her whole life to become an author and filmmaker, and so to be able to work with her on her very first published book is really a very sweet experience for a mom.

Our military readiness is dependent on these spouses being happy as military spouses.

I do think that when we're all low, sometimes the only person who's there for me is the Lord.

My godfather had his own plane, and when I was a teenager, I got to fly with him and it just kind of got in my blood.

When I first met Mike Pence, it was love at first sight. On our first date, we went ice skating at the Pepsi Coliseum at the state fairgrounds. We skated around for a little while, then he reached over and took my hand.

My main thing was - how could God put this desire in my heart and not bring me kids? It made me question Him a lot. I kept thinking we'd be these great parents. 'We're ready. We want kids. Why don't You bring us kids?'

I remember my little niece looked up at me one day and said, 'Auntie Karen, why don't you have any babies?' It can be a very heartbreaking.

We're people of faith so we just try and approach everything with prayer.

I don't think that a lot of people understand the difference between therapeutic art and art therapy.

Every family has to do what's right for them.

It's always hard to lose. Any time you lose, you think, what could you have done.

There are no other people like Hoosiers.

Military spouses may experience frequent moves, job changes, periods of being a single parent while their loved one is deployed - all while exhibiting pride, strength, and determination and being a part of something bigger than themselves.

President Trump and Vice President Pence have been supporting our United States Armed Forces, including our military families, on a significant scale.

The women's suffrage movement was the gateway that led to women having the opportunities to achieve monumental milestones and accomplish significant achievements in both civic and governmental roles.

Because of heroes like Susan B. Anthony and Lucy Stone, women today, like our daughters, Audrey and Charlotte, and future generations, will have their voices heard and their votes count.

I am always honored to have the opportunity to spend time with those who serve and work tirelessly to protect our freedoms.

America is made up of people who are heroes.

We sold our house when Mike became governor.

Under the leadership of President Trump and Vice President Pence - I have to put his name in there, too - we are getting things done.

Indiana is just a very special place.

I have been privileged to hear so many stories of selfless support, volunteer spirit and great contributions to the Armed Forces and our communities.

Our son, Michael, serves in the U.S. Marines and our son-in-law, Henry, serves in the U.S. Navy.

The Pences are a military family.

In the Trump administration, we feel it is imperative we support our military spouses and children.

There's no place like home and Indiana is home.

The political world, the political life, is all out there. Our family has to come first.

The COVID-19 pandemic has added some unusual stresses for our military families, such as all of their PCS moves being put on hold.

We want people to know, especially our veterans, that there is help.

President Trump and my husband Vice President Pence have taken momentous action to defeat the coronavirus.

If it's Friday night, we'd better be having pizza for dinner. Supreme, thin crust with an O'Doul's. Every. Friday. Night.

With veterans, we want them to be able to talk about their struggles and sometimes they can't. Sometimes they're dealing with trauma that damages the brain. Sometimes they just don't know how to tell people they're struggling.

Nobody elected me, nobody voted for me. They don't want me writing policy, and I don't intend to.

That's really my love, is teaching art to elementary kids.

It was really a matter of just letting God bring us kids when He was ready to bring us kids, and that's where they come from, and so we just had to wait until He was ready.

What we found is, art therapy can be used for anyone who's experiencing trauma.

I learned about being a spouse from my daughter-in-law.

This country was founded on religious liberty. And I think we have to be careful about infringing on anyone else's beliefs. I think that if you have someone who has a certain belief, that doesn't mean that they're necessarily judging you.

I didn't care about fame or fortune, big house, fancy career, nice car - none of that has ever been important to me.

I just wanted to be a mom.

When we go all over the world and observe art therapy, it's used frequently with people who are having some kind of depression, or stress or trauma, anxiety, anger issues.

It's always a compliment to Indiana if people are talking about what's going on in our state and talking about our governor.
