I knew I didn't have post-natal depression because it wasn't all day, every day. But I felt very low. As a woman you think you should still be making dinner and looking nice. You think, 'I can do a million and one things.' But you can't.

Being cheated on didn't make me more insecure, it made me stronger because I know that it's not your fault. If someone disrespects you it's their problem, not yours; there's no point worrying.

We can learn the art of fierce compassion - redefining strength, deconstructing isolation and renewing a sense of community, practicing letting go of rigid us-vs.-them thinking - while cultivating power and clarity in response to difficult situations.

If art is any good, it has so much of a longer trajectory than one night. Contemporary art is separate from art openings. In the end, it depends on the strength of ideas in each piece.

But when I lived as a monk, solitude is often spoken of as a strength. And so the first thing I'd recommend is finding one thing that you can do every single day that brings you joy. It may be reading a book you love. It may be looking at a beautiful piece of art.

My attitude is that if you push me towards something that you think is a weakness, then I will turn that perceived weakness into a strength.

Vampires are so old that they don't need to impress anyone anymore. They're comfortable in their own skin. It's this enigmatic strength that's very romantic and old-fashioned. I think it goes back to something of a Victorian attitude of finding a strong man who's going to look after his woman.
