Being a host is a completely new role for me and I am surely enjoying it.

There are a lot of similarities between Akshay and my father. Akshay is a Punjabi and so are we. He is Delhi-based and my dad was also from Delhi. I think he would be able to pull off the character.

I started my journey in music at the age of six.

Salman liked my song 'Humko Pyaar Hua' from 'Ready' and asked me to try a romantic number for 'Dabangg 2.' After the recording, both Salman and Arbaaz Khan liked the way I sang the number and finalized my rendition for the film.

I think I was only five years old when 'Aashiqui' happened. And I remember very faintly that my father used to bring home all the music that was being done at that point of time, and make everyone in the house listen to the songs and get an opinion on them.

There has been a huge growth in the audience attending live concerts. It's delightful to see the increase in audience members and I hope to see more demand for live concerts in the years to come.

To be on screen, you need to do a lot of other things. You need to look good. You need to perform well. You need to act well.

It's very important for singers to feature in their videos because when we do playback for Bollywood, we tend to become the voice of the character - whether it's the actor or a situation that we are singing for.

A recreation is not the same as a remix. A recreation has a new element added to it. There are new lyrics added to it. A new composition is introduced within the existing one and I feel that's tougher to do.

I have been part of a lot of recreations. So, I don't think there's any harm in doing recreations if they are done in the correct manner.

Lahore' has been one of the chartbusters of recent times and the version 'Lagdi Lahore Di' from 'Street Dancer 3D' has a new groovy vibe to it, keeping the original essence intact by Sachin-Jigar. It's created beautifully and as I heard it, I loved the whole new essence and vibe added to it.

People have realized that it's a waste of time and money to create eight songs and shooting videos of them all.

Releasing albums is a thing of the past.

I'm a foodie, and since I am a vegetarian, I am going to try Lucknow ki chaat. I have heard a lot about it.
