Like many other professions as well but for me, football is a big example of life because you have it all in football.

At the end, football is a collective sport, not an individual sport.

I've had to improve my talent through the years but for me, it's 50-50 - I had to improve my game technically, but I also had to improve my game in terms of relationships with everyone else.

Whatever needs to happen, whoever I need to shout to, whatever I need to do to motivate or bring everyone together, to make everyone around me better, I will do it.

Since I began playing football, I've always been most concerned about winning and winning at all costs.

Since I was a young kid, I always had my way of being like to control everything that was around me, to make sure we win - because I'm a defender, and I want to make sure that the team will be there for me, attacking and defending, and everybody is ready to fight for each other.

Many times it's not about saying, 'You shouldn't have done that, you shouldn't have done this.' Just get together with the team and we will solve it for you. Make a mistake? No problem, the team will solve it.

I'm just a player who tries to play.

I just try to play my role the best I can.

Playing for City has surpassed all my expectations and it's an absolute pleasure to be part of such an incredible squad.

Fernandinho is, without a doubt, a reference for me in the dressing room. It will be a good role model to learn from, so I'll try to get as many learnings as I can from him.

The small details come to everything. From food to the work you do individually, to the work you do on the field with the team.

You can have all the success in the world alone. But if you have no one to share it with, what does it serve?

Since you begin a season, you always have one goal: to win it all. If you don't have that goal, you're not part of the top five clubs in the world.

Football for me is everything. It's life. It's happiness. It's dealing with everything from being wonderful to being the worst thing in the world, dealing with all kinds of emotions.

I had the chance of being in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. And I definitely felt a different perspective because it's one thing to watch it from the outside, you know how big it is, but then to actually live it and be there, it's just something else.

I strongly believe that with or without an armband, everyone should be their own captain.

When I talk about Bernardo, I always like to talk about what I believe makes who he is.

That is who Bernardo Silva is. A guy who is equally talented as the others, but willing to make sacrifices that not many others are willing to.

Since I was very young, I've been very concerned about my future.

My granddad was a very humble person but still, to take all that time of his life to take care of me and help me every day, it was something very special for me.

I was lucky enough to have a very devoted grandfather.

I've never tried to aim for anything else than being who I am.

There is always a new opportunity to learn, a part of the game that you can analyse, to see a goal that a team suffers, how the team failed to try to prevent it or to see how it prevented it from happening.

I think when you talk about a relationship between a striker and a defender it's all about the margins. Some guys it can be 50-50, but other times it can be 60-40, 70-30. Erling is probably one of the few where you have to be 100/0 against him, if it's 99 he will score.

If you want to be at the top, if you want to be number one, you need to play against some of the best.

I've learnt from everything that I've seen which was a good example.

I went to schoolboy trials at my local club Estrela da Amadora and I was confident that I was going to be a striker.

Success comes with no big long-term expectations, it comes with the next day and then the next day.

In the end all of us want to be at the top and to be at the top you need to win.

We always need to keep pushing and there is always room to get better.

I think consistency is a word that can never be fulfilled.

The bigger the challenge, the bigger the wins and we love that.

I like to outdo myself and I like to play always on the red line.

I didn't learn from just one, two or three players. I learned from 10, 20 or 30. I learned from everything I saw.

From a young age, encouraged by my father, I got used to learning something in everything I see and not just seeing the game as a show but as a study material.

You have to train with the best if you want to be the best.

Now I breathe it, I breathe positivity.

That strong mentality of turning fear into power, turning difficulty into something good, turning negatives into positives, that is something that comes from my father.

You can have the best players in the competition, but if you don't know how to make the most of the strengths of each player, then you won't be able to operate properly as a team. People will see you as just another ordinary team.

There's no doubt that individual skills and abilities make all the difference, but at the end of the day the most important thing is our ability to connect with each other and work together.

First and foremost, you need a strong team if you want to succeed at a tournament as big as the World Cup. You can have all the individual strengths in the world but what really matters is how strong you are as a team.

Someone who loves football, as a player, a person who loves football as well, it's great to have someone leading you that makes you learn a lot, and makes you enjoy even more the way you play, the way your team plays.

I just feel the joy of going to work and doing what I love the most!

I've always lived to one day be able to accomplish my dream.

Obviously I have the motivation of being the best at what I do, the best in my position, to play for the best and to win with the best. I was taught to know how to work with that passion. The passion is in yourself, the passion was in me.

I am an extremely motivated person, just for no reason, or for all the reasons in the world.

Obviously the pressure around the Champions League final is always special, is always different.
