What I want for myself is the space to grow and evolve in the ways I want to change, not in the ways people want me to change or only in the ways that other people respond to. It's really hard to do that when you're glued to a screen for eight hours, reading comments about what people think about you.

If someone is just working constantly, and their work overtakes their life, it's hard to be in a relationship with someone like that.

What I'm trying to say is I've found that a lot of people that stream a ton don't have a ton of social experience because they've spent so much of their lives playing games. Which can be okay, but if you're still spending all of your time just streaming, it's a little bit tough.

People who have like 50k subs, and they are like, 'let's get to 51k'... I really, I hate saying potentially controversial stuff or telling people what to do, but I do personally find that a little bit off-putting.

I intentionally worked on my YouTube channel and Instagram page early on and made a conscious effort to try to funnel over that audience to my Twitch channel.

There is a huge misconception that streaming and creating content for 12 hours straight, 7 days a week will make you successful. While that process can certainly bring in higher numbers early on, it will absolutely lead to burn out... I choose to invest in other parts of my life on both a personal level and business front as well.

By diversifying my time in business meetings, investments, and personal projects, it makes me look forward to my content creation time even more.

On the brand front, we are here to help brands learn the landscape and add value to the community, while achieving their goals and reaching their target audience.

I really value like my happiness, my sanity, my peace of mind way more than any bonus income.

Not to ruin any of the magic of it all, but I will say that over the years, I've picked up some tips on how to dress for a stream. The main one being, dress for what people can see. I'm not going to do all of my hair perfectly if people can only really see the two front strands.

I don't know about everyone else, but I find doing my makeup to be quite a therapeutic, fun activity. I really like taking my time to do that and dress my face up however I feel. That's usually also my alone entertainment time, so I like to set up my phone beside me and watch my favorite new YouTube videos.

I love to dress for the occasion. I played in an online chess tournament, so for every single day of that, I created some outfits inspired by Beth Harmon from 'The Queen's Gambit.'

I think there is a bit of a pressure to look presentable when it's time to create content, especially because it will be seen by so many people.

Feeling like your existence is friction in the industry that you're in is just not fun.

It's been a very fun ride, but I do also recognise that putting yourself out there so much, especially streaming, revolves around this constant feedback loop of people telling you what they think of you.

I don't think I could date someone where streaming is their life.

I just don't want to participate in the rat race of streaming.

When I wake up, I don't want to run to my PC and game for eight-hours straight.

I played a ton of 'League of Legends.' There weren't many people in my high school that I could game with, so I mainly played with others online.

I had past managers telling me that I have to stream 8 or 10 hours every single day. And that just doesn't really work for me. I need time to reset in order to be a happy, functioning human being.

Certain channels stream maybe five times a month, but because, like, every single stream is a show, and it's really hyped, the viewership is great. Things like that are amazing.

I figured that streaming on Twitch would be a way for me to make more friends to play games with. I fell in love with it.

I love being able to set my own hours and have control over how much that changes over the years, and how I grow and develop over time.

Block out the negative people and listen to the ones you feel truly understand you.

I'm fortunate to know other female gamers.

Honestly, there are people in the streaming industry who don't find misogyny deplorable, who don't think it's a big deal, who don't think deepfaking should be punishable in any way.

I want to develop a sense of self, values, morals, and then attract an audience based off those things, as opposed to doing it almost the opposite way, where I see what the audiences are responding positively to and then pander to that.

The way that I used to lead my life is like, I spent almost all of my time either streaming or working on things relating to streaming. Now I'll work if I want, and then if I want to pursue any interests, I will, and if I want to share those, I have the opportunity.

For me, in high school, as an immigrant, coming from an immigrant family, there were certain values we upheld. To some extent I felt like my household was a bit quote unquote stricter than other households. It wasn't as acceptable to be out late or go to parties or do these things that I saw my friends in school doing.

Being an online content creator is a lot like having your own company. Therefore being able to adapt and evolve is an integral part of keeping your business running.

There are just such good vibes in Canada.

I love being able to share my experience of how I got to where I am today in hopes that it will help others who are on their way.

Throughout my entire career as a female streamer, I have sensed - on numerous occasions - my male counterparts or male friends being afraid to stand up for me because they will be labelled simps. How else can you describe that but some weird internalised misogyny?

I keep seeing amazing creators that are doing wonders with their content and streams, but they don't have the support to grow their brand and business operations. They're spinning their wheels on basic stuff and taking a lot of frustrating partnership deals that don't work out for either party involved.

My goal is to take my years of experience and make it accessible to newer creators so they don't need to go through the process I have endured.

I'm always doing things I feel like I should do. But avoiding regret does not mean you are pursuing what you want.

I think I just really like the feeling of being able to impact someone's day, hopefully positively.

I haven't given myself time to identity-develop, because I've spent so much time trying to please others.

As I saw my career and my job becoming a larger and larger part of my life, I recognized that I had to find some way to balance it, and to kind of negate the mentally taxing side effects of streaming and always looking at my phone and, in essence, being in this constant feedback loop of comments and chats and other people's opinions of me.

So many awesome people in the streamer world of Fortnite were just willing and happy to play with me.

Whatever game you're playing, just play for fun. Find some friends to join you. Having fun, at the end of the day, is the most important thing.

It's hard growing up and putting your whole life on the Internet. When you make a mistake, it's on display for the world to critique and judge. There's also pressure to share everything in your life because so much of it is public already.

Your personal and work-life become so blurred when your job is to create content about yourself.

I love the creative process of drawing inspiration, sourcing different materials, and helping an idea come to life.

I believe Twitch is the place I need to be if I want to be at the forefront of livestreaming.

It's really important for me to be able to recommend the best livestreaming platform to those who watch me or are inspired by what I do, and I want that to be the one I'm actively using.

While in school, I was juggling engineering courses and trying to maintain my Twitch channel.

Since I know how difficult it can be to balance a passion for esports and a degree, I want to help those that are trying to do the same thing, especially if they don't end up in a position that's as lucrative as streaming.

I live my private life off-stream, okay.
