I mean, on my mom's side and my daddy's side. They rolled their sleeves up. They got to work every single day and had good years and bad years, but at the end of the day, they loved it.

I remember a time when my parents made me feel like it was rude to ask somebody who they were voting for.

Even if I'm married one day, I don't know if I'd be posting about my husband all over social media. I mean, Dolly's husband - there's like one picture of him on the Internet. She's kept that private, and I think that's OK.

I remember every morning as a kid, before my daddy went to work, I'd pull his pants leg over the top of his boots for him. I was just a little girl, but I felt like there was purpose in it, like I was helping him out.

All these little sayings that my family has said my entire life somehow make their way into my music. I can't escape it, really.

The entire cast and crew of 'Yellowstone' - just good, hardworking people - really embraced me and lifted me up. I didn't know what to expect going into it but I learned a lot. It gave me an opportunity to share my music with the world and that's all I've ever wanted to do.

I've been going to CMA Fest since I was 14 years old.

There were definitely times in my life where I was okay with getting broken up with, where I was okay with my heart hurting because I was getting the kind of songs that I needed.

I'll be honest, as a female in country music, there's definitely times where you need folks to know you're here to show up and work and get down to business.

The truth is my life ain't perfect, and I want to share that with people.

Whirlwinds cause turbulence that cause chaos. But at the end of the day, you figure out how to come back to the center.

Songwriting has always been my number one no matter what, but I've loved country music - where I'm from, northeast Louisiana, it's a town of 200 people, it's a little town called Baskin. We eat, sleep and breathe country music so that was my focus.

I am the kind of songwriter to where I don't have to have experienced it firsthand to write about it.

There are so many small moments along this crazy journey that have helped build my story, which is why I love to savor them, and Stella Rosa makes them that much sweeter.

My life has just been constantly changing at a very rapid pace.

What 'Yellowstone' has done for the Western way of life has been a huge turning point.

I became friends with people from Canada and Oregon and the East Coast and the West Coast. Everybody loved country music just as much as I love country music. They just didn't talk like me.

As a little girl, you think, 'Oh, I want to move to Country Music City.' And you think you're gonna show up, and everybody there's going to talk the way that you talk. And that's just not the truth.

I am hardheaded. I really am, and if you could sit down and talk to my parents, you would realize why I am the way that I am.

It's about finding the people who love what you do, and lucky for you, don't want you to change.

I always think back to a time of my life where I wish I was busy, I wish people were noticing me or my music and I was praying for opportunities.

Anytime I do feel like, 'Man, how much more do I actually have to give?' I have to make time to actually fill my cup so I can give more.

If I'm leading the pack or whatever, I hope people will stay true to themselves. Stay true to their sound. Stay true to their look.

I feel like sometimes you gotta pretend. You gotta put yourself in the shoes of things you're not, so you can become them.

Everybody is going to have something to say about everything.
