My favorite part of 'Jessica Jones' is... all of it.

The thing about Netflix is that you get more minutes in your episode because there are no commercial breaks. You have time to let things breathe and be quiet. You get to see an entire scene play out instead of just jumping halfway in.

There are a lot of times when Jessica Jones is alone in her house, and there's no dialogue. She's rough around the edges, so getting to spend that time with her and see her be vulnerable and process the weight of her world is what makes the character so likable.

It's hard to fight in high heels or even jeans that are too tight. You can't kick in skinny, skinny jeans.

I don't have a lot of clothes or a lot of possessions to bog me down.

Any time you get to play or dress differently or look differently, as an actress, that's incredibly exciting.

I worked with my acting coach one-on-one for hours and hours, every single day for two months, before even setting foot on set or putting on Jessica Jones's clothes.

I'm from a small town, a farm, a hundred acres.

Thematically, I like playing with the ideas of stuff that you try to bury, and you think will go away, but instead you carry it with you until it becomes crippling. And sometimes you have to look back and deal with some stuff in order to truly move forward.

The more messy women that we put on screen, that we put in books, the more women can feel represented and seen, then they can access their own stuff, feel it's okay, and then have the strength to speak out about things like we're talking about. About rising up.

It's hard to always be reduced to the way you look or your sex appeal or what that is.

I live in Los Angeles, mostly, and have a lot of girlfriends and a full life out here.

I read the entire 'Alias' series. I devoured them.

Every day, you try something new. So I just try to keep myself healthy physically and nutritionally.

I'm a creative person. I love to write, I love to act, I love to perform, I love to create things with my hands, so I do all of these things that are kind of like hobbies in a way. They're things that I love, so it's not like a work-life balance; it's just a work-life marriage.

I've written pilots. I wrote a movie.

I kept telling people, 'I really want to do something like 'Breaking Bad,'' and then people would remind me, 'Krysten, you were on 'Breaking Bad!''

When you go to Marvel, they lock you in a room with the scripts; they really are that secretive.

I think it's important to be flexible and free, and you can't be free and spontaneous if you don't know what you're doing.

For me, rehearsal is very important, and I spend a lot of time doing it. Also, I work with my acting teacher for hours and hours before walking onto any set.

I don't fight for much, but when I fight for something, it's usually because I think I'm going to be right.

I've been bouncing around from comedy to drama and TV and film.

What I'm doing is making sure that I have a balance, and that allows me, I think, to be a better actor and to more easily and quickly access all of the emotions on the scale. I make sure that I read a book on the weekend or read something or do my knitting or do the things that I need to do for myself, like 'Game of Thrones.' Get that balance.

With 'Jessica Jones,' I'm in almost every frame of the show.

If they want to do a 'Defenders 2,' I'm in.

I didn't know how to throw a punch - why would I? Who knows how to throw a punch? Now I do it all the time, and it makes me feel strong.

It's really hard to sell a script, and it's even harder to get a movie made. It just almost never happens.

If you really want something, you've gotta just do it and not wait for other people to hand it to you.

Sometimes, as an actor - and I've witnessed this with other actors that I've worked with - you don't realize that it's not all about the actor.

Netflix is like sitting at the cool kids' table. Netflix is amazing. We're the biggest fans of not only working there but of the company in general.

I was always an outcast, even in my family.

A lot of actresses start out modeling because it's a great way to sort of get your foot in the door. That's all it is, though. They open the door, and you have to walk through it.

If you're 20 minutes early, that means you're too eager, but 17 minutes gives you time to, like, settle, sign in, use the ladies' room, have some water, and get comfortable.

I love 'House of Cards,' I love 'Bloodline,' I love 'Orange is the New Black,' so I had written on my refrigerator that I was looking for 'groundbreaking television on Netflix.'

'Daredevil's a great show; I feel like 'Jessica Jones' is a great show, and I feel like they really are tapping into something.

I think backstory is really important to know because I'm all about prep work. I like to do all of my work right away, as soon as I get it. I'm incapable of procrastinating on anything, so I like to do all of the work.

If we're at a lunch table, I'm going to always sit with the girls. That's just kind of how I am. I always gravitate towards women. I know how to communicate with women.
