Being able to be with someone I trust, where we don't want anything from each other, having a safe, steady relationship like that has really opened my eyes to the possibilities of love and what it feels like to love without conditions.

No, I don't think I would call myself a theater kid necessarily, who just starts whooping out ballads and songs. I'm more dramatic like in a drama movie. I'll make everything 10 times more intense, serious, or heartbreaking than it needs to be.

I did 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'Seussical.' From there I took drama classes. And then from about 15, there was not much else for me to do.

I think subconsciously, my whole life I wanted to be an actor, because I demanded all the attention from my parents and friends and people around me.

It felt like, all of a sudden, I was a poster. Like I was a billboard. It felt like it was for sale.

I hated being a character to the public.

My car was like a hoarder's, stacked with boxes and coat hangers and things.

I wasn't booking jobs. I think I had - I don't know, $400 or $800 left in my bank account - and 'Euphoria' was my last audition before I went home for a little while to make some money and recuperate.

There's a smorgasbord of films that are out there and you never even hear about, which are just absolutely incredible.

I don't really feel like I'm building a career or trying to be this kind of actor or that kind of actor.

I knew the calibre of work that I wanted to do and I'm just lucky that I've been able to step up and do it so early on.

She's like my sister. Zendaya is an amazing creative, you know? She's super dope to work with.

I was trying to prove myself and be known as an actor.

I'd been in L.A. for about a year, I didn't have any work and I had no money. I didn't really have anywhere to live and I was in my car and on mates' couches. My visa had like two weeks before it expired, so I was going to dip out and go back to Australia.

I had this abundance of confidence in myself because I could do both: I was quite good at sport, and I think I was quite good at theatre.

After 'Euphoria,' the coolest shift happened. It put me on the radar, that I could maybe act, and it allowed me to sit down with these guys whose work I admire - they knew my work and they had enjoyed it. So I could have these really adult, creative conversations with like-minded people.

I got guarded for a little while, because I made a teen movie.

I just felt very corny, and I felt like I had to prove to everyone that I was a serious actor. I felt terribly misunderstood.

I don't care enough about being a celebrity to make movies that I don't really care about.

I would never stop anything, whether it be running or riding a bike up a hill. To this day, I will never, ever stop.

All I've ever wanted to make is movies.

Television is cool, and I'm glad I got to take part in that, but I'm a firm believer in cinema.

Whatever works, you know. As long as you get to that place between action and cut.

If it makes you happy, I feel like you should wear it.

I'm aging.

It's a slippery slope to put all your value into the vanity of what your body looks like. Your body is going to deteriorate.

You'll go to a shoot and you'll be getting changed or something, and someone's like, 'Oooaaah, would you look?' Can you imagine if I said to a woman, 'Daaaaamn, look at your waist!' Like, see you later. I would never do that, but I think people see it on their screens, so they think it's OK.

I never was worried that my peers would think that I was less than a man.

From the moment I did a play I was called gay at school.

I enjoyed playing the actor. I stepped away from beer culture and from sport culture, and I was like, well, if you think this is gay, I'm going to be who I am when I was your friend, which is this hetero guy, but I'm going to play the arts.

I could never understand, how could you label anything, ever? How could you label sport as masculine? How does your sexuality inform your prowess as an athlete, or your prowess as a performer?

The Kissing Booth' was the first film I ever made - it was sort of my ticket to Hollywood, so I was really grateful for that.

The trick is they just always cast me with girls who are five-foot-two. Everyone's like, 'You're so big!' Yeah, but they're also not big, not even average-size women. They're quite small.

I've done some movies where it gets to the point where it's like, 'He goes to the mall, shirtless,' and you're like, 'Why?'

I don't want to lose the entirety of who I was when I was little.

I still want to be in touch with my younger self, which is everything that I am.

My mom has videos of me with this great ginger curly wig, with red lipstick on, and my sister's purse. I don't remember ever resenting it or putting up much of a fight.

Every morning I want to wake up and be excited about what I'm going to do. I want it to be honest and fulfilling for me personally, and then maybe it can be fulfilling for the rest of the world, too.

I have never understood cards my whole life. I could never learn card games, I didn't have the patience for them.
