I think me as a person, I'm just rough around the edges.

Before I went solo, I initially thought I was gonna be a drummer for the rest of my life but there was always that itch inside me to be a lead singer or start a solo project.

I went to a Catholic primary school and high school - an all-girls high school - and being queer was never talked about. It was never around me and it wasn't really in the media that I was consuming either.

I feel like as a queer person, we've all gone through a summer where you've fallen in love with someone.

With drumming, I've done so many hours on stage in past bands and have been playing in bands for my whole life so I'm not nervous on drums.

I've been such a massive fan of Linkin Park and Fort Minor my whole life growing up.

I think when you go into a room and you're fresh in the songwriting, producing world or going into sessions, no idea is a bad idea. When I've worked with younger artists, there's like this little bit of nervous or, they're shy to say the ideas. But no idea is a bad idea.

When I've been in rooms helping other artists write songs, I want it to feel authentic to them. So it's a lot of talking because I want to know, their story to write a song that they can sing on stage and then they can connect to it because it's from their experience.

Covering any artist's song and getting the tick of approval from them is beyond my wildest dreams.

Playing shows is a feeling like no other. That's definitely one of my favourite things.

I always come over to places I don't live, and I'm always so surprised. I'm like, 'I don't think anyone knows who I am here,' and then I rock up, and there's thousands of people.

If I'm playing drums I don't really want to wear a headband on stage, so I wear a hat that keeps my hair out of my face.

There's no difference between G Flip and Georgia Flipo. They are literally the same person. I'm very unfiltered and just 'this is who I am.'

I think I'll always live between Melbourne and L.A. but being a touring musician, you're never really home anywhere.

I grew up with this rough-around-the-edges, unpolished kind of vibe my whole life, and then my mum listened to, like, Top 20 kind of pop... so I feel like my music is that exact blend.

My mentality is that I can do everything myself, plus I believe anything is possible. If I have an idea in my head I will not stop until it works out. I'm an all the eggs in one basket person.

In life some people say they can't do something and they'll need help, but when I didn't have a producer I just learnt how to be a producer and did it for myself. Same with learning the piano and learning the guitar.

A lot of producers make a folder of their favourite sounds that they reuse, but I'm continually finding a new one I like, same with synths and guitar pedals.

Because I play so many instruments I approach each song differently. One might be from a drum perspective, one from a producing perspective, then one from a piano perspective.

I knew from a very young age that I had crushes on girls. But in that Catholic-school environment, any older girls who came out as queer were whispered about or pointed at. I didn't want that for myself, and so I never shared my attraction with anyone until after year 12.

I have five stepbrothers but I didn't grow up with them. My parents separated when I was in my late teens and I gained two of my stepbrothers, Reuben and Josh, to whom I am close, when my mother, Lisa, remarried.

As a little kid, I watched him play guitar and sing in a band, and even though he performed in a pub to 10 people, I thought he was a rock star. I idolised my dad, and so I wanted to be a rock star, too.

My dad, Marc, has definitely been the most influential man in my life. He is my biggest supporter and my number one fan.

I never had a back-up plan. It was always going to be music - 100 per cent. I would be such a miserable person without it.

When I was trying to make it into the music business I really wanted to get myself to the AIR Awards to start conversations with managers and labels, because I knew they were all going to be there.

I feel like my supporters and the people who follow me, who are such legends - by the way, shout out to them - they've always got my back.

I feel like if I wanted to fly under the radar I should wear heels and a dress, and I don't think anyone would know who I am.

I will run around and people chase me and try to get photos with me.

When you're at a young age you need that one role model, or a few people, to push you along and transform your life.

True love has nothing to do with gender or external appearance.

Growing up watching fairytale movies, I didn't fit the typical prince or princess character. As the world has progressed and I've grown up, I've learned that a lot of love stories don't look like the stories in movies.

I sing better when I drum.

While I was sitting back on drums for years, I was watching how the lead singer interacts with the crowd, how the bass guitarist moves, and I was piecing together what my show would be like in my head.

I used to be a party animal back in the day, but now I'm way more healthy, eating and drinking a lot - drinking water.

My life has always been centered around playing drums.

After making my first album, I was thrown into pop sessions where people very rarely had a drum kit or any real instruments in the room. I was shocked that when I had 'made it' the norm was to ditch the live instruments and make everything on laptops... I knew that wasn't me.

It's a pop album from a drummer's perspective but more importantly, 'Drummer' is the album I always wanted to hear growing up.

I cry when feelings are too hectic.

Sometimes when I'm writing songs I find myself in that Teskey Brothers soul world and I'm like, 'This is not a G Flip song,' so I've thought about putting a band together to make a side project. It would be very cool.

I'm not a dramatic person.

I really feel like drums are the key to everything in my life... Drums gave me my confidence. The drums helped me hide when I was queer, and I couldn't come out yet. I got to just be the drum kid in school, not the gay kid in school.

My instrument is drums. That's my core.

What I'm super-proud of is Chrishell speaking as an ally for the non-binary community, and how she speaks on being queer and her identity.

My main motivation with my whole existence is to be representation for queer, gender fluid, gender diverse, non-binary communities.

Normally, I'm a bit of a perfectionist.

I'm the solo artist drummer that I wanted as a kid. I want to be what I never saw growing up.

When I look at my childhood, I see what was missing was queer idols or someone to look to, or music that was queer, or storylines in TV. I know that that would've had such a big impact on me.

I remember coming out to my dad as gay and him just being like, 'Okay, cool. Do you still want spaghetti for dinner?'

It's really great to just live your authentic truth.

Well, I always had thoughts. But when I really knew I was in trouble - or, not in trouble, but I really was like, 'Oh my God, you are so gay,' was when I saw The Pussycat Dolls' music video for 'Don't Cha,' and I was like, 'Gay!'
