It's just crazy how the Louisiana court system works.

Where I'm from, you get money, you gonna know you got money. You gonna know you got money when you get money.

Baton Rouge is small, so when somebody like me blowup, who they used to chase around the neighborhood, who was a wild little kid, that affects people.

Even when I had plenty money it was still a struggle.

The stuff I rap about is what I've seen, you know? That's basically why I rap more about the struggle than the shine and all that. Because I've seen more struggle than anything.

I care about the people saying they're protecting us not protecting us. That's a big zero.

I'm a daddy and I'm a businessman also.

I've made my kids strong-willed and strong-minded where they know music from reality.

I've got a lot to say about my life, about what I went through in prison and about what my family went through.

I'm a better artist and I'm a better person because I'm wiser, and stronger and I know who's hip for me and who ain't.

My music always been based off telling stories and now I really got a lot of stories to tell about my life, what my family went through, what my people went through.

As for the rap game, I feel like the music I got, the rap game wide open for me to take over.

When you go to jail you know who real and who ain't.

I'm supposed to be on top of a lot of people who are past me, but their business is better than my business. It ain't the raps.

My music is violent, but not all of it. I have songs about God, my kids, and telling other people's kids to chill out and go to school and do right.

My violent music helps most kids avoid that street life because it scares them. My fans aren't blind to the consequences.

I always felt that my mission wasn't complete.

I got my GED in prison.

Whatever I feel uncomfortable about, I just say it.

I always had problems with making singles because I'm not a singles type of guy. I never needed radio to blow me up. I'm a street legend.

I'm just trying to stay positive, man, and help as many people as I can. Cuz if you don't help people when you get successful, I don't be respecting those people. I don't respect them as a whole.

You should never think like 'You go to jail and you come home a G.' Because it only takes one mistake for you to never come home.

Jail ain't the place to be. Don't glorify jail.

I just make my Boosie music and that puts me in my own lane.

Me with diabetes, when I talk about it, it lifts people up. When I talk about how people need to take their insulin shots, it make people go take their shots. My words is like a damn preacher.

I feel like I got fans that love me for more than just the rap. They love me as a person, they love me as a daddy, they love me as a character. They love Boosie as a whole.

I just know I'm a voice of the people.

What I go through in my life, I tend to put it in my music. I always say the things that hurt me the most and that matter to me the most. I can't hold it in, man. It's like therapy.

I want people to go deep into my music like Baton Rouge does.

If you go back to the hood in America, I think most of them look at me like an icon. An icon is somebody they wanna be. Somebody who can relate to everything that they're going through at the time. So, I'm definitely an icon.

If I feel somebody is doing people wrong, I'm going to rap about it.

In Baton Rouge, blacks have always been looked at differently from other races, and the blacks who are fortunate, don't express themselves like I do.

I keep my music heartfelt and stick to making real music. I wouldn't even say it's hip-hop music. My music is 'reality rap.'
